EACH ROUND TO BE TELEVISED IN 08!
Toyo Tires were a huge supporter of Sport Compact in the 2006/2007 Series, with event naming rights for 3 events and presenting sponsor support of the Castrol EDGE Jamboree. In our 2nd year we are proud to welcome Toyo Tires as our Series Title Sponsor for 2008.

In early 2008 we'll be introducing the Toyo drag slick into the Australian market," says Toyo's Clinton Joyce. The Sport Compact Group Drag Racing Series kicked off in 2006 as we entered a new chapter of Hi-Tech Drag Racing in Australia with the 1st fully independent, non ANDRA Drag Racing Series Australia has seen. The Sport Compact Group developed 12 NEW classes in consultation with racers, race car builders and industry stakeholders that we felt better suits the Australian Sport Compact market and gives us the ability to make changes to suit the market place when needed. If the 2006/2007 was anything to go by, we made the right decision. At the end of the 2006/2007 Series we had over 130 members and world wide recognition.
With Toyo Tires support of the 2008 Series, each Round will be televised Australia Wide on SBS, Fox Sport and overseas on MotorTV.

The 2008 Toyo Tires Sport Compact Group Drag Racing Series will be contested over 4 Rounds in 3 State on the East Coast of Australia.
- Rd 1 – February 2, 2008 - Summer Slam, Heathcote Park Raceway, VIC
- Rd 2 – March 1, 2008 - Mini-Jam, Willowbank Raceway, QLD
- Rd 3 – May 18, 2008 - Compak Attak, W/Syd Int. Dragway, NSW
- Rd 4 – August 23/24, 2008 - Castrol EDGE Jamboree, Willowbank Raceway, QLD
Due to the Castrol EDGE Jamboree being re-scheduled the original date for the Summer Slam had to be moved. We had planned to move the Mini-Jam also, to provide more time between Rounds 1 & 2, but the Willowbank calendar had already being locked in place and we couldn't get it changed. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
There is basically a class to suit any street registered 4 cylinder, rotary or OHC 6 cylinder powered vehicle right through to full chassis purpose built drag cars. Racers can join the Series and share in a range of Racer Benefits including website Driver Profiles, National Records, National Championship Points, Tow Funds, Membership Card, Contingency Sponsorship Program, Series Championship Prize Purse of over $17,000 and much more. The Sport Compact Group would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their valued support in 2007, and wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It's the time of year to spend time with family, friends and be merry. It's also the time when the roads out there are very busy, so please be careful.
