ROUND 3 GOES OFF IN SYDNEY
Round 3 of the Toyo Tires Sport Compact Group Championship series travelled to Sydney for the Mackenzie’s Motor Trimming Compak Attak on May 18th. The event at Western Sydney International Dragway (WSID) kicked off with crisp and clear winter weather despite a rather gloomy forecast. A huge entry list saw a great range of local racers as well as plenty of interstate travellers ready to battle it out on the black top.
Morning qualifying for the street-tyred classes kept the action happening on the strip, a few highlights including McKern & Assoc. Pro Turbo racer Joe Signorelli taking the wheel of the freshly imported Haltech-prepped Nissan GTR R35. For a lot of fans this was the first chance to see the new “Godzilla” in real life, and definitely the first time for many to see it used in anger! Whilst the car remains basically stock except for the new development Haltech ECU, Joe managed to real off an insane 11.12 at 124mph pass!
Check HERE to read the full meeting report.
The Photo Gallery is up with some of the action from on and off the track from Round 3. Click on an image below to go to the Photo Gallery.
