ALL MOTOR

Class Designations: AM preceded by car number.

All Motor is run on a DYO (dial your own) system and is designed for full-bodied vehicles using normally aspirated engines with no power adders using a 4-cylinder or 5-cylinder engine or 6-cylinder OHC (over head cam) engine or 2-rotor or 3-rotor engine.  Full tube chassis and front or back half conversions permitted.

CLASS REGULATIONS

Engine

Engine: Production based engines only, must be in original position. Engine swaps permitted. Aftermarket blocks and cylinder heads permitted.  Dry-sump and crankcase evacuation systems permitted.  Power adders prohibited. Refer General Regulations 4.1.2.1 and 4.1.2.2

Accepted engines: -  4-cylinder (push rod or over head cam) Maximum capacity 3.0 Ltr
                                     5-cylinder (push rod or over head cam) Maximum capacity 3.0 Ltr
                                     6-cylinder (over head cam only) Maximum capacity 4.1Ltr.
                                     2-rotor or 3-rotor

Exhaust: Open exhaust permitted except where  prohibited by track rules.  All exhaust outlets must exit below the sill panel and be directed to the rear.  Refer General Regulations 4.1.4.

Fuel: Restricted to pump, racing petrol or methanol only.  Refer General Regulations 4.1.6 and 4.1.7.

Fuel Tank:  Replacement fuel cell permitted. Refer General Regulations 4.1.8.2.

Liquid Overflow: Required.  Refer General Regulations 4.1.9.

Driveline

Driveline: Drive-shaft loop required on all cars running quicker than 13.00 sec. Refer General Regulations. 4.2.4.

Flywheel Shield: All Manual transmission equipped vehicles running quicker than 11.00 sec must have a flywheel shield. Refer General Regulations 4.2.6.

Transmissions: Any transmission permitted. Clutch-less and/or sequential shifted manual transmissions permitted, each shift must be a function of the driver and controlled manually.  Trans brakes permitted.  Refer General Regulations. 4.2.1.1, 4.2.1.2, 4.2.2 and 4.2.8

Brakes and Suspension

Brakes: Refer General Regulations 4.3.1.

Front Suspension: Aftermarket steering and suspension components permitted.  Traction devices permitted.  Refer General Regulations 4.3.2, 4.3.3 and 4.3.4.
 
Rear Suspension: FWD with factory independent rear suspension may replace with straight axle suspension.  Traction devices permitted.  Rear-end swaps permitted.  Refer General Regulations 4.3.2, 4.3.3 and 4.3.4.

Wheelie Bars: Permitted.  Maximum length 65 inches (1,651mm) from rear bumper. Any adjustability during run prohibited, must be fixed during run.  Hydraulics, pneumatics, electronics, etc. prohibited. Wheelie-bar wheels must spin free at the starting line before launch.  Any preload prohibited.

Body and Chassis

Airfoils / Wings / Spoilers: Factory and aftermarket components permitted.  Airfoils / Wings / Spoilers may NOT be wider than the widest part of the vehicle body.  Any movement or adjustment during a run is prohibited.

Body: Any automotive or light truck body permitted.  Lightweight body panels permitted.  Must retain full-bodied appearance, with minimum 2 functional doors.  One-piece front clips permitted.  Refer General Regulations 4.7.4.

Chassis: Full tube chassis and front or back-half chassis permitted but will incur weight penalty for record setting only.  Bracing of front suspension towers to roll cage permitted on uni-body cars without weight penalty.  Engine relocations may incur full chassis weight penalty.  Refer General Regulations 4.4.3, 4.4.7.1 and 4.4.7.4.

Wheelbase: Must retain original wheelbase of vehicle plus or minus 1 inch (25mm).

Windshield/Windows: May be replaced with lexan or plexiglass with a minimum thickness of 3mm.

Wheels and Tyres 

Wheels: Must be suitable for street or racing use. Use of temporary replacement wheels or space savers are prohibited. Refer General Regulations 4.5.3.

Tyres: Treaded or slick tyres permitted. Retreads or space saver spares prohibited.  Refer General Regulations 4.5.2.

Interior 

Interior: Door trims, carpets, and interior trim in general is optional. Minimum of a drivers seat required. Refer General Regulations 4.6.1.

Electrical 

Batteries: Refer General Regulations 4.8.1.1 and 4.8.1.2.

Computer: Aftermarket and piggy back computers permitted. Data loggers permitted.  Refer General Regulation 4.9.2 and 4.9.3.

Electrical: Two headlights and taillights must be present or painted on but need not be operational except for one working taillight.  One headlight assembly may be removed for air intake purposes. Refer General Regulations 4.7.7.

Ignition: Aftermarket ignition systems permitted. Rev limiters and two steps permitted. Refer General Regulations 4.8.2

Driver and Safety

Arm Restraints/Window Nets: Refer General Regulations 4.6.2 and 4.10.2.

Fire Extinguisher System: Permitted.  Refer General Regulations 4.9.41 and 4.9.4.2.

Head Protector: Required.  Refer General Regulations 4.10.7.1

Helmet: Required. Refer General Regulations 4.10.8.

Licence Requirements: Dependent on vehicle ET. Must have ANDRA UDL if quicker than 10.99 sec. Subject to track sanction requirements.  Refer Credentials 4.10.3.

Neck Collar: Refer General Regulations 4.10.7.2.

Parachute: Compulsory on all vehicles exceeding 140 mph (224 kph) Refer General Regulations 4.4.6.

Protective Clothing: Refer General Regulations 4.10.10.

Safety Belts: Required. Refer General Regulations 4.10.11.

General  

Sponsor Decals: All racers must display the event and class sponsor decals on both sides of the race vehicle at all times during the event.  Decals must be in a prominent location, clearly visible as required by Sport Compact Group Pty Ltd.  Failure to do so will forfeit any prize purse posted and may lead to disqualification.  No other event decals permitted.

Tow Vehicles: Permitted only on vehicles running quicker 11.00 sec.  Refer General Regulations 4.9.9.1 and 4.9.9.2.

Warm Up Procedure: Refer General Regulations 4.9.11.

Record Setting

The below weights include driver and are only used for Class Record setting.  Vehicles DO NOT need to meet these weights for racing in DYO Classes.  To be eligible to set a All Motor Class Record, vehicles must meet the minimum weights below and all class rules.  Only Qualifying, Eliminations and Final round runs can be counted towards ET/MPH records.  To set a record, it must be backed up by a second run within 1%.  It is the driver’s responsibility to present the vehicle to the scrutineering shed immediately after a run if they feel a record has been set.  Failure to do so will forfeit the record.  Officials will verify weight after a run if the racer feels they have set a record for that class. The record is only awarded to that driver holding the record at the end of the event.

Minimum Weights only for Class Record setting:
Sport Compact Group reserves the right to amend weights in order to maintain parity in the class.  Ballast permitted.  Refer General Regulations 4.4.2.

4/5 Cylinder FWD – 1,650 pounds/ 748.4kgs
4/5 Cylinder FWD full chassis or front half cars – 1,500lbs / 680.3kgs
4 Cylinder VW Air Cooled – 1,700 pounds/ 771.1kgs
4 Cylinder VW Air Cooled full chassis or back half cars – 1,600lbs / 725.7kgs
2 Rotor and 4/5 Cylinder AWD or RWD – 1,950 pounds/ 884.5kgs
2 Rotor and 4/5 Cylinder AWD or RWD full chassis or back half cars – 1,800lb / 816.5kgs
6 Cylinder FWD – 1,950 pounds/ 884.5kgs
6 Cylinder FWD full chassis or front half cars – 1,800lbs / 816.5kgs
3 Rotor and 6 Cylinder AWD or RWD – 2,300 pounds/ 1043.2kgs
3 Rotor and 6 Cylinder AWD or RWD full chassis or back half cars – 2,150lbs /975.2kgs

Sequential, clutch-less or aftermarket transmissions, add 200 pounds/ 90.7kgs.
